His work received the James Peterson Scholarship and honorable mentions for the Greenbrier and Apicus scholarships at the Greenbrier Symposium for Professional Food Writers. In 1990, he founded Pioneer Training to deliver computer training and programming to Western Massachusetts and beyond.
